Advanced Searching

Basics of Advanced Search

To perform an advanced search in ‡biblios.net, select Advanced from the pull down.

Now enter your search in the global search box and Click 'Search'

If the targets you're searching support advanced searching, results will be returned. (You can customize how advanced search works for each target; see below)

To perform an advanced search you can use the following syntax

Code Definition Example
kw Keyword kw=chocolate
ti Title ti=chocolat
au Author au=harris
isbn ISBN isbn=1417756535
issn ISSN issn=00289604
date Date date=2008
pub Publisher pub=viking
su Subject su=France

Customization

‡biblios.net uses CCL as a user-facing query language for advanced searching. CCL parameters are mapped to bib-1 search attributes. These can be customized on a per-target basis based on that target's support for bib-1 attributes.

Most targets found via the target registry will be correctly configured for advanced searching.
To customize the bib-1 mapping for a given target, go to Options > Search Targets and double click on the Search Settings column.  CCL mappings will start with: pz:cclmap. You can create new CCL mappings by clicking on New Search Type, and filling in the CCL parameter and bib-1 attribute.
